Shipping Coordinator

📍 Highland, NY💲 $18.00 – $19.00 per hour🕒 Full-time | Overtime Available | Excellent Benefits

We are seeking a reliable and organized Shipping Coordinator to oversee daily packing and shipping operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring customer orders are packed securely, shipped on time, and processed accurately according to company procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Direct workflow within the shipping department to meet daily shipping goals
  • Ensure packaging quality meets company standards
  • Maintain packaging material inventory
  • Prepare and organize shipping documentation including packing slips, labels, and bills of lading
  • Coordinate UPS, FedEx, and freight shipments
  • Perform ERP transactions accurately according to company procedures
  • Compare freight costs to ensure safe and cost-effective delivery
  • Work with freight carriers to resolve damage claims

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work in warehouse and manufacturing environments
  • Must follow PPE and safety requirements

The Council of Industry has been the Hudson Valley's manufacturer’s association since 1910. We are a privately funded, not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting our member firms.

Our mission is to support manufacturers through workforce development and leadership programs, networking, and collective advocacy.
