What Drives Success

The Shipping Clerk/Order Picker is responsible for coordinating and processing outbound and inbound shipments to ensure products are shipped accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Job Duties

  • Pick, verify, and prepare customer and internal orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Process customer and internal orders by verifying order accuracy and preparing shipments for distribution.
  • Package, label, and stage shipments in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
  • Generate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, and other required records.
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and select appropriate shipping methods based on delivery requirements and business needs.
  • Receive incoming shipments by unloading, inspecting, verifying, and documenting materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Stock received materials in designated warehouse locations while maintaining inventory accuracy and organization.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain inventory accuracy through routine cycle counts, inventory checks, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Track shipments and resolve shipping, inventory, and delivery issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, carriers, suppliers, and customers regarding shipping schedules, order status, inventory, and shipment concerns.
  • Prepare shipping and inventory reports and support cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and warehouse environment.
  • Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (as authorized), to move, stage, and load materials.

What We Are Looking For

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with order picking, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment preferred.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or handheld RF scanners is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, packing slips, bills of lading, shipping labels, and other warehouse documentation.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter and retrieve information from warehouse systems.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy while meeting productivity expectations.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks or obtain certification as required.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed to support business operations.
  • Commitment to following all safety policies, quality standards, and company procedures.
