Job Description
On behalf of our client, Manpower Malta is seeking a Shipping Clerk to join a well-established legal and professional services firm with an international client portfolio. The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic shipping and maritime team, providing administrative and operational support whilst liaising with clients, crew agencies, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general administrative support within the Shipping Department.
- Assist with the review and processing of crewing applications and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate applications for seafarer documentation, certifications, and endorsements.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and follow up on the processing and issuance of documentation.
- Act as a point of contact for clients, crew members, and crew management agencies.
- Prepare invoices and assist with following up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure client files are kept up to date.
- Support the team with day-to-day shipping administration and compliance matters.
- Assist with various operational and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
- A-Level standard of education or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and spoken English; knowledge of Maltese will be considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in an administrative, secretarial, shipping, or maritime-related role will be considered an advantage
