Shipping Associate

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: US - Oklahoma - Oklahoma City 1

Compensation: $18.25 / hour

Schedule- Mon through Thurs 6a to 430p

Responsible for the handling and processing of warehouse work orders, purchase orders, and sales orders; transporting inventory; and maintaining stock in warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
  • Follow detailed instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Operates a powered industrial forklift to transport inventory, unload and load trucks.
  • Fills and transacts work orders, purchase orders, or sales orders.
  • Performs quality checks on stock items to report defects or damage.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
  • 6 months or more experience working in shipping or receiving (preferred).

Computer Skills

  • Basic: Barcode scanner.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Forklift Certification (required).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

  • While performing the functions of this job, the employee is:
    • Continually required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.; and grip with hand or fingers.
    • Regularly required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.; push or pull; sit; bend or twist; stoop or crouch; reach above shoulders; reach to full extension; activate foot control.

    • Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 100lbs.; stand; walk; ascend or descend ladders, stairs, or ramps; use upper extremities.
  • The employee must continually lift or move 10lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include regular peripheral viewing; viewing length changes; close viewing with occasional accurate depth perception and distance viewing.
  • Specific hearing abilities required by this job include the need to perceive the spoken voice clearly and the need to hear warning signals up to 70dbs with or without assistance.
  • Specific speech abilities regularly required by this job include comprehensible speech.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is subjected to harmful environmental conditions and is located in a manufacturing type environment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position is Frequently exposed to extreme heat, vibration, and moving mechanical hazard; and Infrequently exposed to wet/humid conditions.
  • This job consists of shift work up to 10 hours per day and may be required to work overtime as needed.
  • Respirator fit testing and equipment is provided upon request of the employee.
