Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM), has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Associate to join our team in Carlisle, PA

This position will act as the distribution department liaison with customers regarding final delivery of their shipments and support shipping operations by preparing for outbound shipment activities. Standard hours of operation Monday- Friday 8 am -5pm, occasional overtime required per business needs. No travel required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete job-site confirmation calls to customers daily, at least 48 hours prior to ship date, verifying all pertinent customer details/delivery requirements.
  • Creates all deliveries in SAP from Orders and documents all special handling requirements on the delivery for Carlisle-management transportation.
  • Plans international (ocean) and Parcel shipments in SAP and coordinates execution.
  • Responds to Order Management requests to adjust orders/deliveries and communicates any delivery changes to transportation team immediately and updates system.
  • Communicates trailer availability to Transportation Team daily.
  • Communicate with local LTL terminal(s) daily regarding equipment needed for pick-up.
  • Prints all domestic and international order pick lists and shipment paperwork.
  • Utilizes Transportation Management System (TMS) to check-in drivers upon arrival.
  • Appoints (in TMS) and processes CPU and CRD shipments in SAP.
  • Maintains dock schedule accuracy (loading hours/capacity) in TMS.
  • Run ‘Potential Shortage Report’ daily- partner with inventory on potential material shortages.
  • Pulls orders and stages products and/or loads containers.
  • Obtain and process product orders accurately, and on time.
  • Facilitate accurate inventory by ensuring adherence to the local guidelines for shipments and inventory of finished goods and/or packaging and labels.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Essential Full Performance Knowledge: Required knowledge includes but is not limited to:

  • Knowledge of safety practices required when working on the warehouse floor.
  • Ability to recognize and report a safety hazard.
  • Knowledge of the company brands and all private label products including CCW, and any special product requirements.
  • Able to competently perform tasks requiring SAP transactions.

Essential Full Performance Skills: Required skills include but are not limited to:

  • Reading – Cycle count sheets, pick lists, packing lists, bill of lading, inbound schedules, labels, product codes, tags, etc.
  • Ability to take and pass hazmat certifications (IATA, IMDG, 49CFR).
  • Math – simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Writing – Recording of cycle counts.
  • Communications – Interact with all Department Personnel.
  • Participate in Safety programs and Department work groups.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Able to competently utilize SAP as a product research tool.
  • Computer skills (SAP, SFIS, Outlook, Microsoft programs).

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D Equivalency education level required.
  • Three (3) years of in-house production, shipping, or material handling
  • Minimum 1-2 years of administrative experience working in a fast paced, high volume warehouse environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal office environment with exposure to a manufacturing environment.
  • Potential exposure to drafty work area, forklift traffic, chemical exposure.
