Job Description

The Shipping and Storing Supervisor supervises hourly personnel in storing and shipping. They are responsible for overseeing the handling, storing, and loading of ware and intra-plant transport.

Key Responsibilities:

Management

  • Supervising shipping personnel
  • Plan department work schedules and direct assignments
  • Review and approve department time sheets
  • Oversee warehouse, docks, and equipment to ensure properly maintained and to report necessary issues or repairs needed
  • Record keeping

Inventory Control

  • Spot bay locations for finish good shipments
  • Physical counts, reconciliations, and adjustment entries
  • Monitor and order material related to corrugate, returnable packaging, load build, and consumables
  • Assist in audits and traceability

Safety

  • Follow all company, plant, and departmental safety procedures and policies
  • Instruct, coach, and enforce all safety rules
  • Fully support and direct all food safety programs and initiatives, as O-I employees are responsible for food safety

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong math skills
  • Experience in warehouse and inventory management a plus
  • Prefer supervisory experience
  • SAP experience would be a benefit
  • Proficient in MS Office (excel, word, outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience working in a union environment is helpful
  • Team player but also able to work independently

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

What we offer at O-I:

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $75,000 - $85,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
