Position Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate receipt of all incoming materials and supplies. This role involves supervising a team of receiving clerks, managing receiving operations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of receiving clerks.
• Ensure efficient and accurate processing of incoming shipments.
• Verify and reconcile purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage or discrepancies.
• Manage inventory levels and cycle counts.
• Investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies.
• Train new employees on receiving procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
• Implement process improvements to enhance receiving efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications: Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in receiving or warehouse operations.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in computer systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to lift heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift operator certification.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
