Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Center Logistics & RMA Technician to support shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory management, and hardware deployment activities within a fast-paced critical environment. This role is responsible for receiving and processing incoming equipment, preparing server racks for deployment, managing asset inventory, coordinating RMAs, and supporting technicians with hardware staging and logistics functions.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a warehouse and data center environment, handling physical inventory, moving equipment safely, and maintaining accurate documentation while supporting large-scale infrastructure deployments.

Shipping & Receiving

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Process inbound and outbound shipments using inventory and asset management systems.
• Coordinate deliveries with vendors, carriers, and internal teams.
• Package and prepare hardware for shipment between data center sites.
• Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and tracking documentation.

Warehouse & Inventory Operations

• Organize and maintain inventory locations, cages, and storage areas.
• Perform cycle counts, audits, and inventory reconciliations.
• Track assets using barcode scanners and inventory management systems.
• Stage equipment for deployments, break-fix activities, and project work.
• Maintain clean and organized warehouse spaces using 5S methodologies.

RMA Support

• Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) for failed or replaced equipment.
• Validate serial numbers, asset tags, and hardware configurations.
• Package and ship defective equipment to manufacturers and vendors.
• Track RMA status and maintain accurate records throughout the return process.
• Coordinate replacement equipment shipments and receipt.

Rack Deployment Preparation

• Unbox servers, networking equipment, racks, and accessories.
• Inspect incoming equipment for damage or discrepancies.
• Assemble and prepare racks for deployment activities.
• Install rails, cable management arms, mounting hardware, and rack accessories.
• Stage servers and infrastructure components for Data Center Technician installation.
• Ensure all components, documentation, and hardware are deployment-ready.
• Assist with hardware decommissioning and asset recovery efforts.

Material Handling

• Safely operate pallet jacks and forklifts as required.
• Move, load, unload, and transport server equipment and materials throughout the facility.
• Lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with team assistance.
• Follow all safety, ESD, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, manufacturing, distribution center, or data center experience.
• Experience with inventory control and material handling.
• Ability to work safely around server and networking equipment.
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout a shift.

Typical Day

• Receive and inspect incoming server shipments.
• Unbox and organize deployment hardware.
• Install rack rails and prepare racks for deployment teams.
• Stage equipment for upcoming installations.
• Process RMAs and package failed hardware.
• Conduct inventory audits and reconcile asset records.
• Support technicians with logistics and material movement throughout the data center.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barstow, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.72 - $34.72/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
