We are actively seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join and grow in the PPG organization.

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will support production and purchasing operations by tracking, organizing, and documenting the status and location of products, material, and hardware. This role is key to ensuring product is moved through all necessary processes in the most efficient manner possible. The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will utilize ERP software to create / issue purchase orders and job travelers as well as update product status.

Requirements

  • Receive parts, supplies, and other incoming items by verifying count
  • Record information on job travels and in ERP system to properly maintain traceability and stock
  • Properly package and protect parts for shipment
  • Create proper labels per customer requirements
  • Expedite delivery of critical items as required
  • Maintain and update OP whiteboard as changes occur to reflect product status
  • Prepare purchase orders for outside processing, materials, hardware, and supplies using ERP software as necessary
  • Properly document lots and certifications on job travelers
  • Release job travelers per ERP system, use job traveler sleeves to protect documentation
  • Evaluate vendor quotes and services
  • Purchase and negotiate pricing and lead times for outside processing, materials, hardware, and supplies to support production needs per the MRP system, verbal, and written requisitions
  • Validate purchase order confirmations and provide feedback to Paragon team on lead time, confirmation, etc.
  • Maintain and establish effective relationships with suppliers
  • Research and engage backup suppliers to eliminate single point of failure
  • Pick-up and deliver parts / product to and from vendors as needed
  • Maintain fluids and cleanliness of company vehicles
  • Provide clear, accurate and timely communication with management to address any issues or delays with processors / vendors. This includes site general manager, department managers, project managers, and other relevant individuals to address the issue.
  • Maintain clean and organized purchasing area, ensure all documentation is visible, correctly labeled and available to the Paragon team at all times
  • Maintain clean and organized shipping and receiving area, maintain Foreign Objects and Debris (FOD) requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • High School diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficient using Windows PC operating system
  • Ability to prioritize day to day activities in the most efficient manner
  • Ability and willingness to proactively plan next days priorities
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to unanticipated schedule changes
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management in a professional manner
  • Understanding of Syteline ERP system and willingness to learn new systems / processes
  • Excellent time management skills required
  • Ability to plan direct, time efficient routes for pickups and deliveries
