Job Description

SUMMARY

The shipping & receiving clerk is responsible on a daily basis for handling all parts going in and out of the parts department inventory. He/she also is responsible for maintaining the 5S appearance and flow of the parts warehouse.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Many of the daily tasks of the shipping & receiving position are repetitious from day to day. This person pulls and distributes all parts that are allocated out to customers/techs by the parts personnel. They receive in all incoming inventory and place on stock shelves or distribute to customer/techs if the part is sold. They also perform stockorder audits and regular housekeeping procedures on a daily basis. Cycle counts of the inventory are done by the S&R clerk as their schedule allows.

Requirements

SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Basic computer skills: typing, NDS, Microsoft word, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work well with customers and co-workers, personable
  • General knowledge of forklift, parts and their functions
  • General knowledge of inventory control methods
  • Follow all 5S policies and procedures
  • Ability to use NDS business operating system
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use UPS shipping program

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of warehousing/inventory management

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED

WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Warehouse work, mostly works alone so must be a self-starting, motivated individual.

Should enjoy a job where most days the scheduled events are the same. This position is in a warehouse setting where the noise level is generally quiet to sometimes moderate if working near the shop area. Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Employee must have normal manual dexterity and be able to effectively manipulate keyboard and phone. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
