Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of materials and products into and out of the facility. This role ensures accurate inventory tracking, timely processing of shipments, and proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing goods. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize ERP system to coordinate and prioritize shipping and receiving schedules

  • Pack goods to meet internal and customer expectations

  • Accept and sign for deliveries

  • Load and unload shipments

  • Use dollies, forklifts, and other moving equipment

  • Open boxes and inspect contents of shipments

  • Process returns (RMA’s) for defective or incorrect items

  • Create purchase orders for subcontract work

  • Check shipping documentation for accuracy

  • Contact departments to resolve shipment discrepancies

  • Store, restock, and shelf delivery items as necessary

  • Ensure the shipping area is clean and organized

  • Coordinate transfers for shipments moving to another location

  • Conduct inventory as required

  • Report major or unresolved shipment delays or problems

    Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency with ERP software and Microsoft Office

  • Basic math skills

  • Team player with clear communication and interpersonal skills

  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures

  • Capable of operating forklifts and basic hand tools

  • Shipping and manufacturing experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Safety-conscious and continuous improvement mindset
