Job Description

SRT Marine Systems plc (SRT) is a market leader in the domain of international marine surveillance technology and systems. We are a respected, established, and an ambitious multi-national company headquartered in the UK with a global customer base.

The company has a worldwide impact in the marine sector by leading the next generation of maritime domain awareness technologies “MDA”, products, and systems that significantly enhance security, safety, environmental protection, and sustainability. We strive to make SRT a rewarding and challenging place to work, where talented, hard-working individuals have the opportunity to make a real impact across the safety and security in the maritime and marine industry.

Role overview of our Shipping and Logistics Manager - Export

The Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) will own the end-to-end distribution of SRT Systems products from point of purchase to delivery into the end user’s hands; across all Systems programmes, current and future. The role drives a shift in planning and behaviour: forecasting delivery needs early enough to consolidate shipments, move eligible volume by sea rather than air, and clear customs in consolidated batches, while ensuring full export compliance throughout. Initial programme focus is the Middle East, Far East and Africa.

The role of Shipping and Logistics Manager (Export) is based from our Bristol & Midsomer Norton offices, with flexibility for Hybrid working. This role will on occasion require occasional overseas travel as required by the business.

  • Manage day-to-day freight forwarder and customs agent relationships and performance for the Systems business, and lead rate negotiation input, within the commercial framework owned by the Head of Systems Procurement
  • Upstream supply
  • Own supplier relationships where SRT buys on Ex Works (EXW) terms and arranges collection
  • Facilitate direct-from-supplier shipments, working in close interoperability with the Senior Supply Chain Coordinator
  • Export control and compliance
  • Own the export licensing process in consultation with the Procurement Manager
  • Manage licence applications and end-user undertakings, and ensure licensing and export documentation is provided throughout the shipping process
  • End-to-end distribution

  • Engage with the in-country Logistics and Supply Chain Manager on final delivery
  • Liaise closely with the SRT warehouse team on consignment readiness
