Details:

Location: 23 Benton Road, North York, M6M 3G2

Major intersection: Keele & Lawrence

Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm

Reports to: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Rate: $ 19 - 21/hour

Reporting to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, this position is a key player in ensuring the smooth flow of all inbound and outgoing shipments, including all corresponding documentation. The Shipper & Receiver Assistant receives, unpacks, checks, and stores goods and materials. In addition, filling requisition & orders, packing boxes, preparing skids, and shipping products and materials to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with Pre-Planning Daily Shipment: Picking, packing and shipping skids, parcels, and boxes.
  • Assist shipping of all orders from the facility in a timely manner.
  • Assist with preparation of shipping documents.
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Collaborates and communicates with customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
  • Receiving all goods in a timely manner and verifying against packing slips and purchase order.
  • Loading and unloading goods from tractor trailers and vans by Forklift Truck and by hand.
  • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Responsible for distributing/moving goods to designated location within the facility.
  • Follow Health and Safety Requirements in the shipping/receiving, storage and delivery areas, maintaining a clean working environment.
  • Other duties as needed.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Must be able to speak English.
  • 1+ years of experience in a similar role (Logistics, Shipping, or Warehouse)
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly - Using proper lifting techniques
  • Good communications skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Positive attitude and demonstrated ability to work well with a team.
  • Self-motivated.

Must be legally able to work in Canada and, where applicable, must have a valid work permit.
