Job Title : Shift Team Leader - Precious Metal Process Catalysts

Reporting to : Manager Production - Precious Metal Process Catalysts

Entity : Evonik Catalysts India Pvt. Ltd

Work Location : Dombivli

Purpose of the Position :

Shift Team leader :

  • Provides leadership and administration for the production team.

  • Responsible for leading a safe, compliant, and efficient operation.

  • Will ensure that the products and services provided by Production meet all customer requirement.

  • Must ensure that all activities are in accordance with accepted practices, regulations and Evonik Corporation policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the duties of production supervisor, operators, workers at production.

  • Troubleshoots process and production-related problems.

  • Ensures that the operation of the equipment’s is carried out in a safe manner, emphasizing quality and ESH compliance.

  • Verifies and certifies that all production-related paperwork – including ERP entries, Batch card entries, daily checklists, vessel entries and hazardous work permits, etc. is completed in accordance with SOPs.

  • Contributes to the development of the shift team and promotes the Self Directed Work Team (SDTW) model.

  • Inspects the production equipment’s periodically to assure compliance with the company’s ESH standards and SOPs.

  • Maintains employee schedule including E-HR verification and evaluates performance.

  • Respond to all emergency situations as needed.

  • Any other duties related to this position as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Able to stand in as Production Manager if requested.

  • Ensure workforce complied with ESH rules & regulations.

  • Ensure incidents are reported timely, investigated and actions are implemented.

  • Encourage workforce to participate in ESH activities such as training, hazard identification, plant round etc.

  • Timely review of hazard identification and risk assessment documents. Work instructions etc.

  • Carry out routine plant inspections.

  • Ensure workforce aware of onsite emergency preparedness plan.

  • Precious metal management ·

  • Ensure that quality control processes are strictly followed at every stage of production ·

  • Focus on improving the First-Time-Pass (FTP) by identifying and eliminating process inefficiencies or errors that lead to rework.

Education, Certification and/or relevant experience required

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical production.

Additional skills and abilities required for this position:

  • Basic chemical, fire and medical response skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Knowledge of chemical production processes and equipment, Site Safety Process Training (Permitting), Safety and Environmental requirements

  • Able to work on 8 hours rotating shift and day shift as and when assigned

  • Technical Knowledge

  • Hands on knowledge of Microsoft office

  • Basic knowledge of technical equipment package units

  • Basic knowledge of Environmental protection units and legal requirements applicable for site

  • Ability to adapt changes and support function requirement
