YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)
The Shift Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the outlet and supporting the GM. This is a hands-on role and they are responsible to assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplining staff, and are also expected to work on the floor and cover any station, including taking orders at the counter, bussing tables and running food and drinks, and generally supporting the team as required. Managing the team means communicating outlet policies and standards, building shift schedules, and calling in coverage when a shift is short-staffed. The Shift Team Leader is physically present on the floor throughout service to monitor quality, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. Customer service responsibilities include greeting guests, resolving complaints, and stepping in on register or at tables when required. The role also supports ordering inventory and supplies, reconciling receipts, preparing deposits, and reporting.
THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)
- Oversee opening and closing procedures. Ensure the outlet is set up, ready, and well presented to receive guests
- Be ready to step behind the counter and take guest orders (to-go and dine-in) whenever the fountain worker needs backup during rushes or gaps in coverage
- Be ready to buss and turn tables and run food/drink orders to guests when the runner/busser needs backup, ensuring quick table turnover during peak periods
- Ensure the counter, dining area, and service stations are clean, organized, and set up to standard
- Ensure that faults and equipment defects are reported to Maintenance and resolved without delay
- Maintain high standards of morale and personal appearance among all staff
- Ensure fair and equitable discipline across the team
- Maintain working knowledge of all statutory health and safety regulations, and ensure hazards are identified and corrected immediately
- Ensure stock and supplies are ordered in a timely fashion so correct levels are maintained and stored under optimal conditions
- Conduct regular reviews of stock and operating equipment at specified intervals
- Ensure effective communication by attending required meetings and holding regular staff meetings to share information
- Hold regular on-the-job training sessions so staff can perform all duties correctly
- Support the General Manager and perform other duties as assigned
- Respond to guest feedback and comments in a timely fashion
- Maintain a high degree of interest in self-development and make suggestions for realistic operational improvements
- Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
- Must be physically present at work, in order to perform all functions required of the position
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume
- Always communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees
- Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
- Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to the cash register and POS system
- Perform other duties as assigned

MUST HAVE'S
- Current, legal, and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework a plus
- Active SNHD Food Handlers and Nevada Alcohol Education Cards
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory or shift-lead experience in a food & beverage/restaurant environment
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and inventory ordering procedures
THE WORKING CONDITIONS
- Lift and carry 50 lbs., carry and balance plates, carry kegs, wine and beer cases as necessary
- Stand for periods of 8-10 hours
- Communicate clearly in verbal and written English
- Bend, squat and stretch in areas of limited space to perform cleaning, organization, and other duties
- Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, smoke, and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather Proper clothing is provided
