Job Description

The Starbucks Supervisor supports the Starbucks Manager in overseeing daily store operations and delivering an exceptional guest experience. This role is responsible for supervising baristas, maintaining Starbucks brand and service standards, and ensuring smooth operations during assigned shifts. In the absence of the Starbucks Manager, the Supervisor assumes full operational responsibility for the store. #weshowup

Responsibilities

  • Support the Starbucks Manager in all aspects of store operations and daily execution
  • Assume full responsibility for store operations in the absence of the Starbucks Manager
  • Supervise baristas to ensure adherence to Starbucks service, quality, and brand standards
  • Actively oversee guest service, responding to guest needs and service cues in real time
  • Assist in establishing, assigning, and monitoring completion of side work and shift duties
  • Maintain cash handling procedures, including bank accuracy, in accordance with company standards
  • Review daily communication logs from prior shifts and complete shift communication for the next team
  • Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and proper setup, including service areas, aisles, and tables
  • Verify compliance with all state, federal, and corporate food safety and sanitation requirements
  • Communicate daily with restaurant or property leadership regarding events, volume, and operational needs
  • Assist with barista training, including promotions, seasonal programs, and operational updates
  • Provide clear direction to staff through effective verbal and written communication
  • Support staffing coverage needs and comply with attendance and scheduling requirements
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and professional work environment
  • Follow all company safety and security policies, including key control, chemical handling, and safe lifting
  • Identify and report safety hazards or operational concerns promptly
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting preferred
  • Strong guest service skills with the ability to lead by example
  • Self-starter with a calm, even disposition and strong problem-solving skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist wherever needed
  • Ability to operate point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Spend time sitting, standing, and walking
  • Spend time making repetitive motions
  • Push, pull or lift to 50 pounds
  • Able to use his/her hands to manipulate/control tools and/or objects
  • Work under distracting or uncomfortable noise levels

The wage range listed for this position reflects a reasonable estimate and considers multiple factors that influence compensation decisions. These may include, but are not limited to, your skills, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and the specific needs of the organization. The posted range does not reflect adjustments for geographic differentials tied to where the role may be filled.

At Comstock, it is not typical for a new hire to start at or near the top of the posted range. Compensation is determined based on the unique circumstances of each candidate.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program. Any award under this program is subject to its rules and may depend on individual and organizational performance.
