Shift Supervisor

Greenbushes Lithium Operation

This is a permanent, full-time position, working an attractive roster (7:7 Roster).

The Greenbushes Lithium Operation is located in a unique residential setting proximal to the Town of Greenbushes nestled atop the picturesque Darling Scarp. Being an active stakeholder in the broader community is integral to our core business values of safety, transparency and inclusiveness. We regularly carry out site tours for local school and community groups and promote education through Mine Open Days and community events. Talison supports many of the community projects, groups and sporting events our employees are involved in. Our vision is to harness the potential of the world-class Greenbushes resource, with the support of our people, shareholders and community, for a cleaner energy future.

About the Role

An opportunity exists to join the Processing Plant team as a Shift Supervisor within a leading Australian lithium operation. Hard-rock lithium (spodumene) processing requires strict adherence to safety, permitting, and isolation controls due to high-energy equipment and continuous plant operations.

The successful applicant will apply strong leadership and teamwork skills, supported by on-the-job training and guidance from an experienced team.

The primary responsibilities of a Shift Supervisor include:

  • building and maintaining an inclusive culture that prioritises workplace safety and operational discipline;
  • leading the Processing team to meet production targets, optimise plant performance, minimise costs, and drive continuous process improvements;
  • supervising and coordinating labour, crew allocation, and training requirements across shift operations; and
  • completing workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations in line with site safety systems.

Additional Lithium Operations Responsibilities:

  • ensuring strict compliance with Permit to Work systems, including issuing, reviewing, and closing permits for high-risk activities (confined space entry, hot work, working at heights, and electrical work);
  • enforcing and verifying Isolation and Lockout/Tagout procedures to ensure plant and equipment are safely isolated prior to maintenance or intervention;
  • coordinating with maintenance and technical teams to manage planned shutdowns, equipment isolations, and plant start-ups;
  • maintaining compliance with Western Australian mining regulations and site-specific safety management systems;
  • monitoring plant conditions and responding to process upsets associated with crushing, grinding, flotation, and lithium concentrate handling circuits;
  • promoting environmental compliance, including tailings management, dust suppression, and reagent handling practices typical of lithium processing plants; and
  • supporting continuous improvement initiatives aligned with modern lithium production demands and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) standards.

About the Candidate

We are looking for safety-focused, adaptable, proactive, and positive individuals who are eager to contribute to a high-performing lithium processing team.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • experience leading a team within mineral processing, mining, or heavy industry (lithium or hard-rock processing experience highly regarded);
  • a strong understanding of Permit to Work systems and Isolation procedures in an industrial or mining environment;
  • the ability to foster a positive, accountable team culture aligned with company values;
  • a proactive, collaborative approach with a demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental performance;
  • sound decision-making skills in a continuous processing or shift-based environment;
  • strong communication and coordination skills across operations, maintenance, and technical teams; and
  • a C Class Driver’s Licence (mandatory).

Mandatory Requirements:

Hold a current Section 26 (S26) qualification under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 (WA) (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
