The Northampton fuel terminal is connected to the UK Oil Pipeline enabling deliveries of gasoline and distillate products from both the Thames in the south and Stanlow in the North West refineries, via a spur line. The terminal has five operating loading bays, with facilities for loading gasoline, super unleaded, diesel, and interface. The terminal has eight main storage tanks holding a total of 28,000 m3 of fuel products. Ethanol is imported via road tanker and discharged into storage tanks for blending into gasoline fuel. The Northampton terminal is a Lower Tier COMAH site and the site operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Shift Supervisor.

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe handling of all fuels and additives received, stored and distributed at the Terminal, in line with appropriate Safety Standards and legislation.
  • Supervise the maintenance of plant and equipment ensuring Integrity Management (IM) standards are adhered to.
  • Provide 24/7 service to maintain safe and efficient operation of all logistics driver and contractor workforce ensuring customer focus priorities are not compromised.
  • Participate in Operational Site Meetings.
  • Maintain Operational Key Performance Indicators.
  • Maintain an up to date First Aider Qualification.
  • Promote positive Health and Safety behaviours and attitudes at the Terminal, ensuring legal compliance and regulatory authorities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 in a process or engineering discipline, or equivelant
  • IOSH or equivalent safety qualification
  • Experience in a process plant or operations in a 24/7 operations at supervisor level.
  • Experience managing contractors
  • Knowledge of Integrity Management (IM) Standards.
  • Able to work independently & as a member of the shift team
  • Experience of producing & maintaining site documentation, records & procedures.
  • Knowledge of plant SHE systems & procedures including appreciation of the SSOW and documentation.
