px Americas is a leading provider of commissioning, start-up and operations-readiness services for LNG assets and energy sectors across North America and beyond. As we expand our footprint into the Bahamas we are recruiting for a Shift Operator.

The Shift Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the LNG Terminal process, utility, and loading systems. This includes maintaining plant stability, executing operational activities, performing first-line maintenance, supporting ship-loading operations, and actively contributing to emergency preparedness. The Operator ensures asset integrity and performance in line with operational excellence and international safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor LNG process systems, utility systems, and marine loading operations using Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and field-based controls.
  • Perform routine site checks, adjustments, and surveillance of critical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute operational activities according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety and Environmental Management Systems (SEMS), and in compliance with applicable OSHA, API, and IMO standards.
  • Support the shift team during start-up, shutdown, and upset conditions, including isolation, depressurization, and reinstatement.
  • Conduct first-line troubleshooting and perform basic maintenance (valve operations, filter changes, line draining/flushing).
  • Act as Loading Master or support cargo transfer operations during LNG tanker loading, ensuring compliance with SIGTTO and terminal-specific procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response drills and act as a first responder during real incidents as part of the site Emergency Response Team (ERT).
  • Ensure environmental integrity through accurate data logging, flaring awareness, and emissions monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate logs, operator rounds, shift handovers, and equipment condition reports using the site's digital CMMS system (px360 or equivalent).
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including lessons learned reviews and operational feedback forums.
  • Mentor junior operators and contribute to team capability development.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Technical diploma or trade certification in Process Operations, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in LNG, petrochemical, or gas processing facility operations.
  • Proven ability to operate within safety-critical environments under international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, API).
  • Familiarity with DCS operations and experience in both control room and field roles.
  • Experience in shift-based operational environments including night and weekend coverage.
