Job Description

Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label charcoal, manufactured fire logs, fire building products, matches and toothpicks. In addition, the Company also manufactures railroad cross ties, which strengthens our relationship with our suppliers in the charcoal business. We offer a full suite of grilling products including charcoal briquettes, all-natural lump charcoal, fire starters along with the Pine Mountain fire building brand, the Diamond brand, and the Specialty Wood Products brand.

The Packaging lead is responsible for coordinating activities among workers in packaging. The position is responsible for the packaging of charcoal briquets. Packaging line workers are required to work several different positions on the packaging line, such as: stacking, folding, diverting bags, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment.
  • Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
  • Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
  • Starts, adjusts, and repairs packaging machinery/notifies maintenance department.
  • Trains workers in operation of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and operate all positions within area.
  • Ability to identify quality defects and source of defects.
  • Ability to train new wrapper operators.
  • Ability to complete roll changes within 3 minutes or less; line change over in 15 minutes or less.
  • Ability to operate multiple lines (3 different machines).
  • Ability to complete FROI and do RCA along with Supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively perform 5S audit.
  • Ability to Train B Operators on necessary pre-shift setup and how to perform PMs for necessary equipment.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • May involve repetitive movements.
  • Lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling as necessary.
