Job Description

The Shift Lead - Flamingo/El Capitan at Las Vegas Petroleum is essential for managing store operations on the designated shifts. This role focuses on supervising staff, providing top-notch customer service, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards. The Shift Lead will play a key role in the training and development of team members while assisting in inventory management and financial reporting. A proactive leader is needed to address challenges and foster a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership: Oversee the smooth functioning of the store during assigned shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
2. Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service to customers, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues effectively.
3. Team Supervision: Coach and support team members, providing ongoing training to enhance their skills and performance.
4. Inventory Oversight: Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and receiving products as necessary.
5. Financial Management: Handle cash register operations, ensuring accurate cash handling and financial reporting at the conclusion of shifts.
6. Health and Safety Assurance: Enforce safety standards within the store and ensure compliance with health regulations.
7. Effective Communication: Relay important information and feedback to management regarding store operations and staff performance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; further education in business or management is a plus.
• 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment, with supervisory experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Competent in addressing customer complaints and providing effective solutions.
• Familiar with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
• Availability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

• Capability to stand for long periods and lift items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to conduct physical tasks including stocking shelves and organizing product displays.
