Dairy Queen Shift Leader / Shift Manager

Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour, based on experience

We are looking for a dependable, energetic, and hands-on Shift Leader / Shift Manager who can lead a team, deliver excellent customer service, and keep the restaurant running smoothly during busy shifts.

This position is ideal for someone with fast-food, quick-service restaurant (QSR), retail, or hospitality experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and grow into restaurant management.

As a Shift Leader, you won't just supervise — you'll lead from the front. You'll coach employees, manage speed of service, maintain food quality and cleanliness, solve problems, and make sure every customer has a great experience.

What You'll Do

• Lead and supervise team members during assigned shifts
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate customer service
• Keep the team organized and positioned for successful shifts
• Monitor speed of service and eliminate bottlenecks
• Coach, train, motivate, and support team members
• Hold employees accountable to restaurant standards
• Maintain excellent food quality and presentation
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
• Maintain a clean dining room, kitchen, drive-thru, and back of house
• Monitor product rotation, portioning, and waste
• Handle customer concerns professionally and resolve problems quickly
• Complete opening and closing responsibilities
• Assist with cash handling, stocking, inventory, and daily restaurant operations
• Support the General Manager and Assistant Managers with team development
• Lead by example and create a positive, productive work environment

What We're Looking For

• 6+ months of high-volume fast-food or QSR experience preferred
• Previous Shift Leader, Team Leader, Supervisor, or Management experience preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent customer-service mindset
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Strong sense of urgency
• Dependable and punctual
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to coach employees and hold the team accountable
• Ability to stay calm and make decisions during busy periods
• Basic knowledge of food safety and proper food handling
• Ability to obtain ServSafe® certification if required
• Professional appearance and good personal hygiene
• Ability to stand and move throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
