Job Purpose: To provide comprehensive instrumentation maintenance support, encompassing reliability planning and execution coordination, aimed at achieving world-class asset reliability across refinery plant areas. The role ensures optimal cost efficiency while adhering to design standards and statutory regulations.

Quality Management System – HSEF: Care & Welfare

• Ensure safe working conditions for all instrumentation personnel during maintenance activities.
• Achieve 100% compliance with the Work Permit System, maintaining near-zero non-compliance.
• Conduct regular toolbox talks for instrumentation staff.
• Enforce interlock bypass protocols and maintain bypass registers.
• Coordinate with HR to deliver safety training programs.

Reliability Enhancement

• Execute preventive maintenance schedules jobs for all instrumentation systems.
• Minimize plant downtime by maintaining adequate spare inventory.
• Perform root cause analysis for instrumentation failures and implements corrective actions.

Cost Management

• Monitor and control maintenance costs and spare part inventories.
• Ensure adherence to CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
• Replace expensive imported package unit spares with suitable indigenous alternatives.
• Standardize instrumentation to reduce inventory variety.
• Prepare SPIR sheets and define MRP levels for spares to optimize inventory.

Best Maintenance Practices & Procedures

• Implement systems, procedures, and policies for effective work request execution (e.g., MOC compliance).
• Monitor instrument performance using SAP history and take timely corrective action.
• Optimize resource utilization (labour and equipment).
• Promote knowledge-sharing sessions and update RCM recommendations.

Team Management

• Align team capabilities and behaviours with departmental objectives.
• Finding the ways to overcome challenges and obstacles during maintenance
• Ensure contract manpower technical enhancement.

Project Management

• Ensure assigned project activities in alignment with objectives and timelines.
• Coordinate with vendors for material procurement.
• Coordinate with engineering for technical issue resolution.
• Provide technical solutions for site-level challenges.
• Allocate resources to ensure timely project completion.

OHSMS – HSEF Care and Welfare

• Identify and mitigate loss exposures through appropriate controls.
• Monitor compliance and identify opportunities for HSEQ performance enhancement.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of legal obligations.

Environment & Energy Management System – EnMS ISO 50001:2018

• Promote awareness of the Energy Policy (ISO 50001:2018).
• Understand significant energy uses and energy objectives.
• Support implementation of the Energy Management System.

Process Safety Management (PSM)

• Apply PSM principles / knowledge of PSM elements and procedures, including Mechanical Integrity and Asset Reliability.
• Conduct Asset Criticality Assessments.
• Implement inspection recommendations.
• Lead or participate in RCA, near-miss, and incident investigations.
• Ensure compliance with Contractor Safety Management Systems.
• Participate in PHA and PSSR studies.
• Ensure interlocks/trips are configured per Cause & Effect Diagrams.
• Maintain updated equipment datasheets, failure data, and history.

Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent

Experience

Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance and planning within large-scale oil refineries, petrochemical, fertilizer or power plant units.

• 3 to 4 years of experience in commissioning, engineering, and project execution.
• Proficient in instrumentation maintenance, installation, commissioning and contract management.
