We're looking for a proactive and technically skilled Shift Engineer who is passionate about maintaining world-class facilities and ensuring our guests enjoy a safe, comfortable, and seamless stay.
What You'll Do
As a Shift Engineer, you will help ensure the smooth operation of the hotel's engineering systems while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of the hotel's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, kitchen, and building systems.
Monitor the daily operation and performance of guest room air-conditioning units, public area equipment, function room facilities, and engineering systems.
Conduct routine inspections across the hotel, including guest rooms, back-of-house areas, restaurants, banquet venues, golf facilities, and other operational spaces to identify maintenance concerns and safety hazards.
Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to the guest experience.
Support banquet and conference operations by coordinating with Audio-Visual (AV) technicians and ensuring engineering requirements are in place before and during events.
Rectify out-of-order rooms and complete work orders within established service standards to maximize room availability.
Assist in monitoring renovation and improvement projects to ensure compliance with engineering standards and operational requirements.
Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including operation logbooks, equipment history cards, preventive maintenance records, and technical manuals.
Perform regular safety inspections and hazard assessments, taking immediate corrective action whenever necessary.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within engineering workspaces and equipment rooms.
Provide engineering support across all hotel facilities, including:
Guest rooms and public areas
Function rooms and conference facilities
Restaurants and outlets
Golf Club facilities
Kitchen operations
Provide maintenance support across shifts and be available to assist during emergencies or operational requirements as needed.
Immediately report equipment abnormalities, operational issues, and safety concerns to the Duty Engineer.
What We're Looking For
Graduate of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical course. Licensed Engineer is an advantage but not required.
At least 1 year of engineering or maintenance experience in a hotel, resort, commercial building, or similar environment.
Knowledgeable in preventive maintenance, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and kitchen equipment.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Willing to work on shifting schedules, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency maintenance requirements.
A team player with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety and service excellence.
