About the role:

The Shift Engineer candidate will report to the Director of Engineering and Engineering Department Manager. The successful candidate’s responsibility is to preserve the good condition and functionality of premises. A role requires a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines.

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for delivering the best-in-class service and can inspire the same results in their team. Must be able to take directions and follow through on assignments.

Applicants will be a willing team player, comfortable with computer systems and willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote teamwork. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

What you will do:

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on hotel equipment and systems

• Tend to minor repairs related to plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, electrical and mechanical issues.

• Respond quickly to guest and staff maintenance requests using the company issued application (Hotsos)

• Inspect guest rooms and common areas for repair needs

• Maintain lighting, locks, doors, painting, flooring, equipment and fixtures

• Responsible for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.

• Ensure compliance with safety and building regulations

• Update maintenance logs and utility readings

• Assist with emergency repairs and after-hours tasks when needed by the department

• Candidate must be flexible working with shifts: 7am - 3pm; 3pm-11:30pm; & 11pm - 7:30am.

What you bring:

• Candidate must be fluent in English, both verbal and written.

• Practical experience and/or the relevant certifications relevant to the

• Requires a working technical knowledge of general building maintenance and the ability to properly use maintenance equipment and tools.

• Knowledge and ability to operate computer equipment.

Schedule & Hours:

• Successful candidates will be hired as a regular, full time employee. Successful candidates are expected to work: day, evening, holidays, overnight and/or weekends.
