To provide Engineering Technical cover for all production and site support equipment, thereby ensuring high levels of machine availability

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fault finding and defect rectification on all production and site support equipment
  • Maintenance of production and site support equipment as per the Maintenance Management System
  • Correct completion of the recording of defect rectification and maintenance
  • To modify or install equipment and machinery as required.
  • Liaising with production colleagues to identify windows of opportunity for carrying out project and engineering-related work
  • Ensure compliance to corporate guidelines, safety regulations and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure that all spares and parts used are correctly booked out in the engineering spares system.
  • Lead the shift technicians in their role and work together to prioritise tasks
  • Ensure that all training courses required for the role are completed.
  • Support and contribute actively in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
  • Keep Production Supervisor and Engineering Management aware of maintenance issues and downtime.
  • Identify and complete projects for Continuous improvement and business needs.
  • To complete PPM maintenance in conjunction with the PPM Engineer

Additional Responsibilities

  • Health, Safety & Environment

    • To ensure that the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies and other safety regulations are upheld throughout the site reporting any irregularities to your line manager.
    • Ensure all work is carried out safely following both internal and mandatory codes of practice to ensure that all personnel are protected.
    • Report Unsafe Occurrences, Near Miss Incidents and Accidents at the earliest opportunity following the correct procedure.
    • Be compliant with any machine instructions, & responsible for the proper use of all equipment assets within the work area.

    Quality

    • The job holder is aware of his/her special responsibility for quality according to the company’s quality policy and conducts his/her activities in accordance with the company quality policy at all times.
    • Comply with company cGMP regulations

    Other

    • To carry out other duties as may be required from time to time by your line manager.
    • Ensure functional legislative compliance.

Education

  • NVQ Level 3 or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Work Experience

Basic Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering qualification
  • Trained to BS 7671 IET Wiring Regulations preferred
  • Experience of industrial equipment maintenance, fault finding and defect rectification

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanical Engineering knowledge and understanding
  • Hydraulic knowledge and fault-finding ability
  • Experience in Medical device industry or other regulated industry
  • PLC, Robotics/PLC experience
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office mandatory
  • Use of CMMS systems

Travel Requirements


5%: Up to 13 business days per year

Physical Requirements


Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.

Shift

  • 3 shift Rotation
  • Monday to Friday
  • 5am - 1pm / 1pm - 9pm / 9pm - 5am
  • Additional Shift premium payable of 15%
