1. Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the combined cycle power plant, including gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and other auxiliary systems, ensuring they operate within design parameters.
- Ensure that power generation meets the demand specified in the PPA, continuously monitoring load requirements and adjusting output accordingly.
2. Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the operations team during the shift, ensuring compliance with safety practices and operational procedures.
- Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and accountability among team members, and provide training to enhance operational capabilities.
3. Compliance with PPA and Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure compliance with all terms of the Power Purchase Agreement, including availability, output, and reporting requirements.
- Adhere to all environmental regulations and operational standards to minimize impact and ensure responsible plant operation.
4. Monitoring and Performance Reporting:
- Use plant control systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational parameters, responding promptly to alarms and anomalies to maintain safe and efficient operations.
- Prepare detailed shift reports that document operational performance, incidents, and any deviations from expected outputs or procedures.
5. Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:
- Act as the first point of contact in emergency situations, effectively coordinating response efforts and implementing the plant's emergency procedures.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve operational issues, coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams as needed.
6. Coordination with Maintenance and Support Teams:
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to facilitate planned maintenance and operational improvements while ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
- Communicate with support departments (e.g., electrical, instrumentation) to address any operational challenges that arise during the shift.
7. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and operational best practices in line with contractual obligations.
- Engage in professional development activities and industry training to keep skills and knowledge current with advances in power generation technology.
8. Documentation and Records Management:
- Maintain accurate logs of plant operations, safety checks, and compliance documentation as required by company policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure timely reporting of operational data to management and relevant stakeholders, including compliance with PPA reporting requirements.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or a related field. Relevant certifications in power plant operation or management are an asset.
Experience: Around 8 years years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role; specific experience in combined cycle plants is preferred. Siemens GT based CCGT experience is preferred.
Technical Knowledge:Strong understanding of combined cycle power generation processes, including a solid grasp of regulatory considerations and contractual obligations under a PPA.
Languages: Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
Physical and Other Requirements:
- Ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, capable of managing emergency situations effectively.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.

Since our founding in 2007, Aljomaih Energy & Water has transformed from a regional entity into a leading player in the energy and water sectors, with projects spanning Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
As a subsidiary of Aljomaih Holding Company, a respected Saudi investment conglomerate, we combine time tested principles with a progressive approach.
With a track record of leading or co-developing complex, large-scale power and water projects across multiple geographies, we have become a reliable partner for both local and international stakeholders.
From initial project planning to ongoing operation, we embrace excellence, transparency, and adaptability as cornerstones of our success, playing our role in contributing towards Saudi Arabia’s Green Initiative and Vision 2030, as well as global Net Zero ambitions.
Power Generation Capacity of 10 GW
Aljomaih Energy & Water’s diverse portfolio encompasses a robust capacity of 10 GW across conventional and renewable energy sources, including Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), cogeneration, and solar power projects. These energy solutions are tailored to address current and future demands while supporting socio-economic development.
Enhancing Water Resources with 700,000 m³/day Capacity
With our Independent Water Projects (IWP), Independent Water and Power Projects (IWPP), and Independent Water Treatment Projects (IWTP), we manage desalination and industrial wastewater treatment facilities that deliver around 700,000 m³ of clean water per day. These projects contribute to community resilience and health by ensuring essential, clean water resources are accessible and sustainable for all.
