As SHEQ Co-ordinator, you will assist the Head of SHEQ and SHEQ Business Partners across various areas, including health, safety, environmental and quality management, training, internal and external auditing and the maintenance of accreditations and certifications. This will involve collaborating with other departments to ensure legal compliance, achieve objectives and targets and meet external certification standards. Please note, this is a fixed term contract.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining ISO 9001, ISO14001, ISO 45001 and NHSS16 management systems in accordance with the relevant standards to ensure continued certification
  • Prepare internal and external SHEQ reports for presentation to the Board of Directors, Managers, colleagues and external bodies, as required
  • Analyse accident and incident data, with accurate data input to enable comprehensive reports to be issued in a timely manner
  • Support in the creation and issuing of all SHEQ related reports and communications
  • Monitor pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) requests and assist in the preparation and submission of pre-qualification questionnaires and other relevant tender documentation
  • Provide support to the SHEQ team in order to achieve operational excellence across health, safety, environmental and quality standards
  • Assist in the management of the external audit function with external auditors
  • Undertake ad hoc projects/tasks as required by the Head of SHEQ
  • Assist in maintaining subcontractor competency matrix and insurance certification in liaison with the Supply Chain Manager
  • Issue SHEQ communication and report on returns analysis
  • Monitor and report on SHEQ compliance operational requirements, such as completion of Site Inspections, Topp10 Audits, Sprayer Checklists etc.

  • Self starter with excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise work load and adapt to changing priorities of the business
  • Willingness to travel nationwide to attend SHEQ related meetings on a monthly basis
  • Maintain a positive and professional can do attitude
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt to the audience and challenge constructively
  • Able to manage own time effectively
  • Innovative, ambitious and results driven with a strong desire to exceed expectations both internally and externally

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Excellent IT skills with competency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • An interest in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standards and practices
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills to include minute taking, agenda development, accident data etc.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to produce reports on a monthly basis
  • Driving licence

Desirable:

  • Health and safety qualification
  • Understanding of ISO standards
  • An understanding of data analysis techniques
