Job Title: SHEQ Advisor
Location: Remote - With Regional Travel
Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 + £450/month Car Allowance
Employment Type: Full-Time, 12 Month Contract (Temp to Perm)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated SHEQ Advisor to join a well-established and forward-thinking organisation operating within the UK construction industry. This is a field-based role, with a regional focus around High Wycombe and surrounding areas, and occasional travel further afield depending on operational requirements.

This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in health and safety, environmental, or quality disciplines who is looking to further develop their career in a supportive and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in promoting and upholding SHEQ standards across a portfolio of live construction projects, supporting both site teams and senior SHEQ professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies across active sites and operational teams.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with relevant UK legislation, industry standards, and ISO certifications (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Conduct routine site inspections and audits, reporting findings and contributing to continuous improvement actions.
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and other SHEQ-related training to operatives and subcontractors where required.
  • Contribute to incident and near miss investigations, gathering information and helping to embed lessons learned.
  • Work closely with site managers and project teams to embed a strong SHEQ culture across all phases of project delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of SHEQ activities, including audit reports, training registers, and corrective actions.
  • Keep informed of relevant legislation and industry best practice, contributing to updates of internal processes and documentation.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a SHEQ role within construction or a related environment.
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential.
  • TechIOSH membership (or working towards) – preferred.
  • Working knowledge of key SHEQ legislation and ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage time effectively, and comfortable working across multiple sites.
  • Full UK driving licence – essential.
