Job Description

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and service-oriented individuals to join our team as Shelter Support Representatives. In this role, you will provide critical support to individuals and families impacted by natural disasters and other emergency situations.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping others and wants to make a meaningful impact during times of need. You'll work directly with displaced individuals, assisting with shelter operations, providing support and resources, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and check in shelter residents
  • Assist individuals with accessing supplies, food, and shelter resources
  • Help coordinate sleeping arrangements and general shelter needs
  • Provide compassionate support to individuals affected by disaster-related displacement
  • Answer questions and help connect residents with available services
  • Complete basic administrative tasks including filing and paperwork
  • Assist with food distribution and inventory management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Collaborate with team members to support daily shelter operations
  • Adapt to changing priorities as shelter needs evolve

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience supporting individuals in need, such as:
  • Shelter services
  • Case management
  • First responder support
  • Human services
  • Community outreach
  • Customer-facing service roles
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Basic administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively

Preferred Backgrounds

This position is based onsite at a shelter facility supporting disaster relief efforts. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pensacola, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
