
Duties/Responsibilities
Participate and lead a 11 person team consisting of 6 MSW and/or LMSW level Social Workers and 5 Peer Specialists. Work collaboratively with a total of 10 BRC Shelter and Safe Haven sites located in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx. Supervise staff using crisis management, Motivational Interviewing, and harm reduction strategies with clients who have experienced an overdose or adverse effects from substance use. Use trauma informed practices to engage with clients. Conduct screenings, assist peers with Narcan trainings and oversight and provide other harm reduction education and training to clients and staff in the shelter system. Utilize group and individual format to assist clients in making and achieving both harm reduction and recovery goals. Creating linkages and referrals for clients near their residence and preferred location for services. Document progress notes and complete monthly reporting for both DHS and OASAS to be provided to Program Director. This role entails working and engaging clients in person and in a residential setting where they reside. Collect monthly and weekly data from staff regarding referrals, contacts, Narcan training courses and kit distribution. Oversee data entry in the AWARDS and OASAS data systems. Reports to the Program Director. Related Duties as assigned.

Full-time; 37.5 hours a week
