We are currently seekingf a Sheet Metal Apprentice I. This is a beginning the sheet metal apprenticeship program, learning the fundamentals of duct fabrication and installation by assisting journeymen and foremen under close supervision. This entry-level role is the starting point for a skilled career in the sheet metal trade.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Assist journeymen and foremen with basic sheet metal fabrication and installation tasks under close supervision
  • Enroll in and attend sheet metal apprenticeship coursework and required training sessions
  • Learn the safe and proper use of sheet metal hand tools, power tools, and equipment
  • Handle material transport, staging, and preparation for installation crews
  • Maintain job site cleanliness and assist with housekeeping and waste removal
  • Adhere to all OSHA safety requirements and company safety protocols at all times
  • Attend and participate actively in all safety meetings and toolbox talks
  • Document daily activities and materials under direction from foremen or journeymen
  • Develop basic understanding of sheet metal drawings, duct types, and fabrication concepts
  • Build professional habits, reliability, and safety awareness as the foundation of a trade career

Additional Duties

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must enroll in sheet metal apprenticeship program
  • OSHA 10-hour certification required or must obtain within 30 days
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required

Skills & Abilities

  • Willingness to learn the sheet metal trade and commitment to the apprenticeship program
  • Physical ability to perform manual trade work including lifting up to 75 lbs
  • Basic math skills for measuring and layout tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious approach to all work
  • OSHA 10-hour certification required or must obtain within 30 days
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS

Requires considerable physical activity including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and handling of materials. Must be able to work from heights using ladders, scaffolds, or aerial lifts. Must be able to carry, move, or lift weights up to 75 lbs.
