About the Project:

The NSW Government is upgrading its regional rail fleet, replacing the aging XPT, XPLORER, and Endeavour trains with modern, safer, and more accessible models. These new trains will enhance the travel experience for customers journeying from Sydney to various NSW regional centers, as well as Canberra, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

As part of the Regional Rail Project, UGL will oversee the asset management and maintenance of this new fleet, consisting of 117 rail cars, training simulators, and a state-of-the-art Mindyarra Maintenance facility in Dubbo. Our team will manage these responsibilities for a minimum of 15 years.

We’re seeking dedicated, skilled Shed Maintainers to join our team at the Mindyarra Maintenance Facility in Dubbo, NSW, on a permanent, full-time basis.

About Your Job:

  • Preventive & corrective maintenance
  • Fault‑finding, diagnostics & repairs
  • Support for facility and equipment maintenance
  • Work a rotating 24/7 roster (after training – day shift)
  • Responsible for carrying out routine maintenance, repair, and basic component changes on-site
  • Operation of wheel lathe


About You:

We are looking for individuals with:

  • Australian recognised Electrical, Mechanical or relevant trade qualification
  • Rail maintenance, including fault finding, component replacement, and remote diagnostics experience (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and remotely
  • Willingness to assist in facility maintenance as needed
  • Capacity to work over a rotating 24/7 roster
  • RIW Card & First Aid Training (preferred)
  • Forklift licence (preferred)
