The Role

We are currently seeking a full-time Shed Hand to join our Darra warehouse team. This role supports the warehouse department by picking, strapping and wrapping pre-finished timber orders in a clean, organised warehouse environment. You will work as part of a team, often in pairs, to pick customer orders accurately and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role that requires reliability, attention to detail, physical fitness and a strong commitment to safety. The role involves early starts, repetitive manual handling, bending, twisting, lifting, stretching and working to daily warehouse requirements. You will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor.

This position would suit someone who enjoys practical, active work, takes pride in being reliable, and is comfortable working in a structured warehouse environment.

Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Picking, strapping and wrapping pre-finished timber orders accurately and efficiently;
• Reading and understanding customer orders;
• Working safely and following Woodhouse Timber’s safety management system;
• Working in pairs and contributing positively to the warehouse team;
• Maintaining good housekeeping across your designated work area;
• Assisting with cleaning communal warehouse areas;
• Following stock procedures as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor;
• Handling products with care to maintain quality standards;
• Communicating clearly with supervisors and team members; and
• Undertaking additional warehouse duties as required by your supervisor or management.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must be able to:

• Reliably attend work at the Darra warehouse for 6:30am starts;
• Perform repetitive manual handling safely;
• Work in a fast-paced warehouse environment;
• Follow instructions and workplace procedures;

Highly Regarded

The following experience will be highly regarded:

• Previous warehouse pick and pack experience;
• Previous manual handling experience;
• RF scanning experience; and
• Experience working with timber, building products or similar materials.
