THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a casual Shed Hand to join our team in Darra, Brisbane Queensland!

The Shed Hand position will provide support to the warehouse department of Woodhouse Timber Company. Processing Lightweight pre-finished products in an easy and clean warehouse picking environment. Shed Hands conduct simple aisle picking while working in pairs, processing small order picking with an Early start - Early finish.

This role places a strong focus on contributing to our vision of being fast, flexible and frequent. A reasonable level of fitness is required as this role requires repetitive twisting, bending, lifting, stretching and manual handling. You will report directly to the warehouse supervisor.

Applicants with warehouse pick & pack experience are encouraged to apply, and applicants with a Forklift Licence will be highly regarded.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work in line with Woodhouse Timber's safety management system at all times, including wearing required PPE and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses to your Warehouse Supervisor.
• Pick, strap and wrap lightweight pre-finished timber orders accurately and efficiently, working in pairs to meet daily dispatch timeframes.
• Interpret customer orders correctly and check picked stock against the order before it is wrapped.
• Complete written records, labels and dockets clearly enough for the next person in the process to action without follow up.
• Handle product with care to protect finish and minimise damage, and report damaged or non-conforming stock rather than dispatching it.
• Keep your work area clean, clear and safe throughout the shift, not just at the end of it.
• Pitch in on communal areas and shared housekeeping.
• Follow stock, storage and stocktake procedures as directed by the warehouse supervisor.
• Take on other reasonable duties as directed by your Warehouse Supervisor or management.

ESSENTIALS

• Must possess a great work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment;
• Excellent time management;
• Ability to make sound decisions; and
• Ability to work autonomously.

HIGHLY REGARDED

• Prior experience in order picking;
• Previous experience with manual handling roles; and
• RF scanning experience.
