Job Shift: AnyMorgan Steel, LLC is seeking a skilled Shear Operator to join our production team. The Shear Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining industrial shearing machines to cut metal sheets and plates to specified dimensions. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication, possess strong attention to detail, and prioritize safety and efficiency in their work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate shearing equipment to cut metal sheets and plates according to production specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and cutting lists to determine required dimensions and tolerances.
- Set up and adjust machine settings, including blade clearance and back gauge, to achieve precise cuts.
- Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on shearing machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Safely handle and transport raw materials and finished products using hoists, forklifts, or other equipment as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and production schedules.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions, material defects, or safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience operating shearing machines in a manufacturing or steel processing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices and ability to adhere to company safety policies.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
