Training Manager – Health & Safety Standards - Maidenhead (Hybrid, 2 Days in Office)

£50,000 - £55,000 depending on experience

At Heidelberg Materials UK, you'll play a key role in shaping how over 3,600 employees develop the knowledge, competence and behaviours needed to work safely and effectively. Rather than delivering training yourself, you'll influence and lead the systems, standards and frameworks that underpin learning across the business.

This is the perfect next step for someone with a background in training governance, learning systems, competence management or workforce development who wants to move into a high-profile role within Safety, Health & Environment.

What you’ll lead

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Own the national SHE training & competence strategy
• Shape technical capability and behavioural improvement
• Lead governance of all external training providers
• Represent HMUK in MPQC and industry groups

Competence & Capability Development

• Ensure SHE training matrices and competence frameworks remain legally compliant
• Develop modern blended learning, e‑learning and catalogues
• Lead SHE apprenticeships and specialist capability programmes

Digital Learning Systems

• Own the Learning Management System and digital learning roadmap
• Lead system enhancements, integration and user adoption across the UK

Provider & Vendor Management

• Manage multiple national providers for cost, quality and compliance
• Partner with Procurement on sourcing, contracts and performance

Performance, Reporting & Assurance

• Drive KPI reporting across compliance, delivery and cost
• Provide technical assurance to Senior SHE Leadership
• Ensure alignment with NOS, IMS and MPA Safety by Competence standards

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work with operational, SHE and training teams to align training with risk
• Influence senior leaders on competence priorities and improvement plans

What you’ll bring

• Experience in SHE, competence or technical training strategy
• Proven background in training governance and provider management
• Experience leading the design and delivery of large scale training programmes
