The Position

SHE and Sustainability Business Partner - SHE Officer

Location: Panamá

As the SHE and Sustainability Business Partner you will act as a strategic bridge to the business, ensuring our Safety, Health, and Environment programs serve as a catalyst for employee engagement and operational efficiency across Central America and the Caribbean. You will provide functional support and oversight to ensure our operations meet both legal requirements and our long-term sustainability goals.

The Opportunity:

• Promote and lead sustainability initiatives focused on environmental (e.g., carbon footprint, energy, and waste management), social/people access and governance, aligned with corporate goals.

• Act as the SHE Officer, Site Security Officer, and Business Continuity Management Lead, collaborating with other Roche affiliates for SHE-related activities.

• Maintain and improve SHE programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Roche Corporate policies, integrating SHE reporting and aligning data-driven analysis with Roche Group standards, while driving improvements.

• Prepare and update Security handbooks per Roche Group SHE Guidelines, advising on security matters (physical, personnel, information, product), assess local exposure, and propose preventive measures with Group SHE Resilience Hubs.

• Lead emergency responses, managing critical issues that may compromise the company's operational sustainability.

• Coordinate SHE training, Fire Evacuation Drills, and emergency programs to ensure disaster preparedness and rapid recovery.

• Promote safety leadership, mental health programs, and productivity tools throughout the organization.

• Oversee the SHE Management System, risk assessments, and Business Continuity Plans to mitigate SHE risks effectively.

• Conduct inspections and audits of distributors and critical suppliers

Who you are:

You hold a degree in Graduates in Engineering, Health and Safety, Environmental Management. Stronlgy prefered postgraduate certifications in Sustainability or ESG courses.

You possess proven experience in Safety, Health, and Environment management & Sustainability experience, ideally within a similar corporate environment. Ability to look beyond daily operations to align SHE and Sustainability initiatives with the long-term regional business strategy

You are a strategic thinker with the ability to align technical SHE initiatives with long-term regional business strategies.

You are a proactive collaborator who can influence and communicate effectively in both English and Spanish across all levels of the organization.

You have a critical mindset and a "think outside the box" approach to problem-solving and managing complex site emergencies.
