About Bering Straits Native Corporation

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) was formed as a result of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) in 1972. BSNC became the regional Alaska Native Corporation (ANC) for the Bering Strait region, which encompasses the majority of the Seward Peninsula and the coastal lands of eastern Norton Sound. This is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the state. Three distinct Native languages are spoken: St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Central Yup’ik, and Inupiaq.

Location – Nome, AK

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Research and processing data of deceased stock transfers

· Corresponding with Village Corporations on missing data for deceased stock transfers

· Responding to shareholder correspondence through writing, emails and telephone.

· Assisting with BSNC annual meetings.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

· Education Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) Certificate

· A minimum of two years’ experience in typing and general office practice

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

· Computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (MS) MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook

· Must have proficient writing skills; be highly organized and able to work with minimal guidance

· Must be task oriented, self-motivated and have the inherent ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and work as a team-player

· Excellent attention to details – the ability to be at work consistently and predictably.

· Drivers License required.

· This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.
