POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The Shared Services Intern will be immersed in Limbach’s business operations to gain a complete picture of central support functions. The intern will deliver hands-on support across core business processes, administrative operations, and cross-departmental projects.

Base hourly rate of $20/hr

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shadow core Shared Services workflows, including accounting, billing, collections, and purchasing, to build a holistic understanding of company operations.
  • Analyze daily operational processes to identify communication gaps, workflow friction, and opportunities for efficiency.
  • Support high-priority operational and business goals by gathering data, tracking progress, and delivering actionable outcomes.
  • Create clear process documentation, user guides, and reference tools to support ongoing team operations and future onboarding.
  • Utilize ViewPoint and Open Envoy to assist with daily administrative, financial, and transactional workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand interconnected business functions.
  • Partner with department managers to establish project roadmaps, track weekly deliverables, and align daily tasks with the overall goals of the department.
  • Prepare and present a final capstone presentation outlining project insights, operational impacts, and key learnings to department leadership.
  • Build professional networks through cross-departmental informational interviews, mentorship touchpoints, and leadership meetings.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including leadership coaching, functional training, and team engagement initiatives.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

TRAVEL:

  • No travel is required for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate program with an interest in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
  • Junior or Senior Status preferred
  • Basic knowledge of GAAP principles preferred
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Uncompromised ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and maintain quality of work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office), with a willingness to learn business-specific systems.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
