RESPONSIBILTIES
Operate 5-axis and 4 Spindle CNC machines
Effectively handle, thermoform, bond, and shape ROHACELL® rigid cellular plastic foam cores
Follow production schedule to machine ROHACELL® Shaped cores
Record time and material consumption in fabrication logs
Comply with and support safety and environmental requirements as set forth by plant standards and external guidelines
Maintain a part numbering and serialization system for various shaped parts and programs
Communicate with internal technical, quality, sales and marketing contacts
Read and understand customer furnished drawings and specifications, especially from the aerospace and automotive industry
Navigate Microsoft Windows based e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet programs
Work with handheld measurement tools to thousandths of an inch such as scales, digital calipers and micrometers in addition to performing mathematical calculations on calculators and being able to perform metric conversions
Inspect cores with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to ensure compliance with customer specified drawings and specifications
Understanding of ITAR projects
Ensures shapes department follows AS9100 standards
Maintain cleanliness of CNC area and other work areas
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or equivalent required
A.S. or technical certification preferred
Strong computer skills (Windows, MS Office, MS Excel)
Multi Axis CNC experience is preferred
Coordinate Measuring Machine equipment familiarization preferred
Forklift certification or experience preferred
Extensive knowledge of SAP is preferred
Experience with managing customer demands and production planning/scheduling
Experience in the aerospace composites manufacturing industry
Bonding of composite material
AS9100 standard familiarization preferred
Experience with woodworking tools to make standard and custom boxes, crates, skids, bracing fixtures, cradles, collars, and chocks for use in shipping
Strong organization and communication skills are required to interface with other departments, including logistics, production and external parties
