Shaft Machinist - 2500

Department: Manufacturing / Operations / Quality

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: US - Oklahoma - Wilburton

Reporting To: Jacob Karr

Compensation: $22.84 / hour


Responsible for operating computerized numerically controlled lathes and machining centers to produce finished products from rough castings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Franklin Electric Quality System.
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
  • Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
  • Meets daily production schedule as assigned.
  • Operates a computerized numerically controlled lathe or machining center to produce finished products from rough castings.
  • Monitors machine performance to ensure consistent dimensioning of parts produced and makes necessary adjustments.
  • Perform required quality checks on completed parts to ensure specifications are met.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
  • Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.
  • Ability to work alone effectively under stress and in situations dangerous to self or others.
  • Sustained concentration or prolonged commitment to job tasks.
  • Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
  • 6 months or more experience working in a manufacturing type position (preferred).

Computer Skills

  • Intermediate: Operates computerized numerically controlled lathes and machining centers and makes adjustments during production.
