The setting machine operator must learn to run both setting machines Plants 6 equally well and switch machines as required. The area of responsibility is from the slug cutter to finished car out of the machine. The quality of the set car remains under their responsibility even after it leaves the machine.
The operator is ultimately responsible for the quality of the brick going on the kiln car. Continuous checks for size, coatings, and texture must be made. Continuous checking of the quality and accuracy of the spacing grippers and robots to maintain the best set on the cars also is a must.
The setting machine operator must operate the equipment in a safe manner. No safety devices should be disconnected or bypassed for normal operation. Any safety not working as designed should be reported immediately.
