A System Engineering Team (SET) engineer acts as single point of contact between Functional Engineering and the program team, ensuring and coordinating functional support and assisting functional teams in any way possible to remove roadblocks and get the job done. SET engineers are responsible for system engineering efficiency and delivery.

In this position...

  • Drive functional issue resolution between functional engineering teams. (Exterior/Interior Systems & Structures, IPTSE, EE Hardware and Underbody Systems, etc.) to support program milestones.
  • Drive cross-functional issue resolution (program, finance, quality, attribute, manufacturing, STA, suppliers, etc.) to support program milestones.
  • Drive system design efficiency, finding solutions to reduce complexity, vehicle cost and/or vehicle weight.
  • Drive Design reviews using live CAD with focus on system or cross-functional system optimization.
  • Manage system cost status with D&R / finance teams by reviewing engineering analysis of design changes, ensuring efficient vehicle solution is being brought forward to program.


What you'll do...

  • Report in a weekly basis program status and progress to leadership team.
  • Lead escalation of issues when needed.
  • Support functional sign-off and compatibility reviews to deliver all Program Milestones on-time with completed metrics. Provide issue resolution updates to the Integration and Program teams.
  • Ensure alignment of engineering resources to budget for all phases of the program.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • +3 years of experience in Body Structures, Seats Structures and Underbody Systems.
  • Strong fundamentals and working knowledge of GPDS engineering milestones & GPDS process.
  • Experience in the Cost Setting Process and Functional Led Cost/Appearance Delivery Process a benefit.
  • Systems Engineering approach.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (open, clear, and inclusive).
  • Outstanding leadership skills with demonstrated ability to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload managing immediate and future needs.
  • Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering).
  • Onsite collaboration expected for at least 4 days per week.

Even better, you may have...

  • Masters degree in engineering.
  • CAD experience using 3DX / Teamcenter VisMockup.
  • Systemic approach to develop and deliver with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional execution and continuous improvement.
  • Strong understanding of Bill of Materials management.
