The Department of Social Development Studies at Renison University College (affiliated with the University of Waterloo) invites applicants for a part-time/sessional teaching opportunity in the Winter 2026 term (January start date).

Job Opportunity:

  • SDS 250R Social Statistics

In this introductory level statistics course students will learn when and how to apply basic principles in the collection, manipulation, presentation, and analysis of numerical social science data. Students will build capacity to be informed consumers of quantitative and hypothesis testing information in social science research.

Course schedule: Winter term January – April 2026, in person

Qualifications

Applicants should have a PhD completed or in progress, or a Master’s degree plus significant experience as an educator, in a social sciences field.

Requirements

  • Prepare and adhere to the academic course syllabus
  • Meet course learning objectives
  • Grade student assignments
  • Be available to meet with students outside of class hours; and,
  • Submit final grades.
