Course number and title: MUN420H1F: Public Policy Capstone
Course description This experiential learning course, embedded within the Public Policy program, connects students directly with federal and provincial government actors and with policy-relevant organizations that work closely with government on a daily basis. Students work in teams on applied policy projects addressing real-world challenges related to access to public services—such as education, health, and social protection. Through direct engagement with practitioners and stakeholders, students analyze inequalities in access to public services and produce policy-oriented deliverables that bridge theory and practice.

Salary In accordance with CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement:
$9,997.48 for Sessional Lecturer I
$10,699.22 for Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term

$10,953.96 for Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term
$10,953.96 for Sessional Lecturer Ill
$11,228.90 for Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term
Stipend rates are inclusive of vacation pay. Please note that should the rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from the rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.
Minimum qualifications Graduate studies in Public Affairs or Public Policy and previous experience instructing Capstone experiential learning courses in Global Affairs and public policy or related discipline are required. Applicants must be able to make use of their own professional connections to solicit clients for their Capstone projects.
Preferred qualifications Expertise and extensive public-sector experience in governmental strategy and intelligence is preferred.
of duties Developing course syllabus; teaching one 2-hour lecture per week at the undergraduate level; providing weekly office hours for academic counseling of students; preparing and delivering course materials; preparing and delivering assignments and tests; marking student work and submitting grades.
