Course Description:
This course covers the economics of the firm in a market environment. The aim is to study business behaviour and market performance as influenced by concentration, entry barriers, product differentiation, diversification, research and development, and international trade. There will be some use of calculus in this course.

Qualifications:
Minimum: Minimum qualifications: Experience with teaching senior students in university and a Ph.D. degree is required. Demonstrated excellence in teaching or presenting and mastery of the subject area.
Preferred qualifications: In addition to the minimum, several years related progressive professional experience. Previous experience teaching a related course at UTSC with consistent, strong course evaluations.
Duties:
The successful applicant is expected to carry out all of the normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, presentations, quizzes, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, and supervision of the T.A.s assigned to the course.

Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,997.48. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,699.22. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,699.22. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,953.96. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,953.96. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $11,228.90.
