Course description An introduction to data visualization and the use of visual and interactive representations of data to support human cognition. This course covers visualization techniques and algorithms based on principles from graphic design, perceptual psychology, cognitive science, and human-computer interaction. Topics include: graphic design, interaction, perception and cognition, communication, and ethics. Computational tutorials involve design review, implementation, and testing of information visualizations.

Salary $55.25/hour + 4% vacation pay
Minimum qualifications Knowledge of probability models and statistical inference, sampling methods, R software
Preferred qualifications Completion of the course and possibly other Stats courses with high grades, strong interpersonal and communication skills
Relevant criterion: Previous experience is the more relevant criterion than the need to acquire experience in respect of this posted position.
