Job Description

As related customer equipment, facilities or infrastructure projects: responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

Project Execution & Delivery:

  • Turnkey Projects or Product/Equipment-Only Projects. Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GEV electrification Grid Solutions business) that may include equipment-only, suites of products, maintenance contracts or turnkey projects.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams across engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, maintaining high levels of satisfaction
  • Oversee factory, site, and construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, schedule, Quality, and EHS standards.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively manage risks, issues, and change orders, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage project budgets, contract administration, and variations, liaising with legal and commercial teams as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to GE Vernova processes, safety, integrity, and core values throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support tendering, sales, and lessons-learned processes, contributing to continuous improvement and future project execution.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent with 1–3 years of relevant Project Management experience.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits during project execution and other business purposes
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure, meet tight timelines, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and manage project scope, resources, budgets, and risks while ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Excellent English (oral and written) with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Grid Products (GIS, AIS, Power Transformers, Protection Relays, Automation & Control).
  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Preferably based in Stafford, UK or surrounding areas.
