Job Description

Schwarz Digits creates the technological foundation for digital sovereignty in Europe. As the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, we develop and manage the IT infrastructures for the retail divisions Lidl and Kaufland, as well as Schwarz Production and PreZero. At the same time, we operate as an independent provider in the external market to support companies across Europe in their digital transformation. We bundle our core services in the areas of Cloud, Cyber Security, Data & AI, Communication, and Workspace.

Join us and contribute to digital sovereignty in Europe. With us, you will work at the intersection of agility and security: You will benefit from fast decision-making processes, enjoy genuine creative freedom in your projects, and be able to build upon the stable foundation of the Schwarz Group.

The impact you will create:

  • As a ServiceNow Engineer, you will be the driving force behind our platform’s evolution. You won’t just be "building features"; you will be designing the technical backbone of our internal infrastructure and shaping how our business operates.
  • Service Ownership: You take end-to-end responsibility for the design, development, and deployment of our ServiceNow solutions, ensuring they are high-performing, scalable, and future-proof.
  • Deep-Tech Integration: You will bridge the gap between standard platform capabilities and high-performance custom requirements, utilizing your Java expertise to tap into core-level integrations.
  • Architecture & Strategy: You will play a key role in creating and validating system designs, particularly for complex self-hosted dependencies and metadata orchestration.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: You act as a technical consultant to our business departments, translating complex requirements into elegant User Stories and robust technical workflows.
  • Quality Excellence: You champion engineering best practices, conducting peer reviews and implementing unit tests to ensure our platform remains maintainable and bug-free.

Experience and skills you will need:

  • Education: You hold a degree in (Business) Informatics or have completed comparable IT training with several years of high-level professional experience.
  • ServiceNow Mastery: You have a proven track record in ServiceNow development, including deep experience with JavaScript scripting, Business Rules, UI Policies, and Flow Designer.
  • Java Core Proficiency: Beyond standard platform scripting, you possess strong Java development skills. You are comfortable analyzing complex logic and implementing high-performance solutions.
  • Communication: You possess business-level proficiency in English. German language skills are a significant advantage. You are a team player who values independence and flexibility.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in Architecture Design for complex self-hosted environments.
  • Proven ability in Re-Engineering migration and update processes (Installer-Payload-Analysis).
  • Expertise in the analysis and utilization of undocumented Java interfaces or internal classes for deep-dive core integration.

Certifications & Qualifications (Must haves at least one of the following):

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Certified ServiceNow Application Developer (CAD)
  • Certified Implementation Specialist for ITSM (CIS-ITSM) or Customer Service Management (CIS-CSM).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • ITIL4 Foundation certification.
  • Certified Technical Architect (CTA)
  • Certified Master Architect (CMA).

Your Core Tasks

  • Platform Shaping: Customize and model workflows using Flow Designer and advanced scripting to meet unique business needs.
  • Infrastructure Solutions: Leverage Java to build independent, high-performance solutions that extend the standard ServiceNow framework.
  • Seamless Integration: Develop and maintain robust REST interfaces to third-party systems, ensuring a smooth and reliable data flow across our ecosystem.
  • Requirement Engineering: Work closely with stakeholders to analyze business needs and translate them into technical reality.
  • Continuous Quality: Ensure the highest standards through rigorous unit testing, documentation, and a commitment to technical excellence.

We look forward to receiving your application.
